DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY

International flights should be arranged to depart from the US on or before September 8th in order to arrive in London by the tour start date of September 9th.

DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN UK

Plan on arriving before 2 p.m. You’ll have time to store your luggage in your hotel room before heading out for lunch at Covent Garden. Spend the afternoon viewing the incredible architecture of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster in London. Overnight in London.

DAY 3: LONDON

Spend the day enjoying London’s top sights with visits to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, and Oxford Street. View the tribute to Jane Austen, as well as many other famous shrines and tombs, at Westminster Abbey. Overnight in London.

DAY 4: BASILDON PARK AND LACOCK

Tour the impressive Georgian mansion and lovely gardens that make up Basildon Park, setting of Netherfield Park in the 2005 adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. Often filmed for period dramas as it has hardly changed in 200 years, Lacock will play host to our evening meal. Overnight in the Cotswolds.

DAY 5: WORCESTER AND AFTERNOON TEA

Abutting the River Severn, Worcester Cathedral is well worth a morning visit. Those interested in attending the Jane Austen festival in period dress will be fitted for and loaned a costume (addtl fee required).  Afternoon tea will provide the chance to practice etiquette. Overnight in the Cotswolds.

DAY 6: COTSWOLDS

Explore the Cotswolds, a region of England sprinkled with picturesque villages, thatched roof cottages, traditional churches, iconic English houses and beautiful green rolling hills. Wander the footpaths of the Cotswold Way and experience an informal period costume photo shoot. Overnight in the Cotswolds.

DAY 7: BATH AND JANE AUSTEN FESTIVAL

Spend the day enjoying the leisure activities, roaming the lanes of Bath and tracing Austen’s footsteps at the Jane Austen Festival. Dress in period costume as desired. Indulge in the luxurious Bath waters that have made this town famous since Roman times (addtl fee required). Overnight in the Cotswolds.

DAY 8: STONEHENGE AND SALISBURY

See the 5,000-year-old Stonehenge and wander around its mysterious circle. In Salisbury Cathedral, view the best preserved of only 4 surviving 800-year-old Magna Carta documents. Wind your way up narrow spiral staircases climbing 332 steps in easy stages into its ancient roof spaces. Overnight in Alton.

DAY 9: WINCHESTER AND CHAWTON HOUSE

Pay your respects at the tomb of Jane Austen in Winchester Cathedral, one of England’s largest cathedrals. Visit Chawton House, where Jane Austen wrote 6 of her beloved novels after necessity required a move from Bath with her sister, Cassandra to her brother’s property. Overnight in Alton.

DAY 10: BRIGHTON AND BOX HILL

Enter Brighton’s Royal Pavilion to get a sense of the opulence that the Prince Regent was famous for. Promenade on Brighton’s Palace Pier and look out over the rolling waves. Stroll along the rim of Box Hill, made famous as the place where Emma was reprimanded by Mr. Knightley. Overnight near airport.

DAY 11: RETURN HOME

The tour concludes with hotel check-out by 11 a.m. Arrangements to the airport will be made for those leaving prior to 9 a.m. Early departures or later departures should plan their own transportation.

Jane Austen’s England Pricing

Tour Pricing And Payment Schedule

The Jane Austen’s england tour scheduled for sept 2024 will be $2,475 based on double occupancy in shared twin rooms. A $50 discount is given for payment in full at initial deposit; otherwise, the following payment schedule applies, per person:

Non-refundable deposit of $375 reserves spot

Payment of $300 for twin due on jan 15th, 2024

Payment of $300 for twin due on feb 15th, 2024

Payment of $300 for twin due on mar 15th, 2024

Payment of $300 for twin due on apr 15th, 2024

Payment of $300 for twin due on may 15th, 2024

Payment of $300 for twin due on jun 15th, 2024

Final payment of $300 for twin due on jul 15th, 2024

Single occupant supplement: $525 for private room with private bathroom (increase monthly payments to $375 per person).

If signing up after any deposit deadline, payment for any previous deposits will be due upon sign-up. Prompt payment is appreciated. Late payments are assessed a $25 late fee.

Tour Inclusions and Exclusions

Included in the tour cost:

Pre-tour information, such as what to pack and how to exchange currency

Expertise of a tour guide throughout the tour

All sight-seeing and visits, as noted in the itinerary (unless otherwise specified)

All on-tour transportation, including trains, local flights, rental vehicles, and buses

One carry-on suitcase and one personal item due to car size restraints

All accommodations, based on double occupancy; typically, 3-star hotels and bed & breakfasts

Not included in the tour cost:

Travel insurance

International airfare and any related expenses

Expenses due to flight delays, strikes, inclement weather or other irregularities

Passport fees, visas and visa photos as required (NEW for 2024 ETIAS visa required for EU)

Personal items such as souvenirs, laundry services, beverages, snacks, and healthcare

Liability Waiver and Release Form

Please sign and return the Liability Waiver and Release Form for each tour participant. A parent or guardian must sign the form for any minor participants. A tour request is officially submitted when both the tour deposit and the Waiver and Release form are received by Aticus Travel, LLC for each tour participant.
