DAY 1: TRAVEL DAY
International flights should be arranged to depart from the US on or before August 19th in order to arrive in London prior to the tour start date of August 20th.
DAY 2: LONDON
You’ll have time to store your luggage in your hotel room before heading out for afternoon sightseeing of Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey in London. Finish the day viewing the sunset from the Sky Garden. Overnight in London
DAY 3: LONDON
Spend the day enjoying London’s top sights with visits to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. Shop and eat in Covent Garden. Take an overnight train in an ensuite sleeper cabin to Edinburgh. Two double bed ensuite rooms and two twin bed ensuite rooms have been purchased and will be reserved on a first come-first served basis.
DAY 4: ROYAL EDINBURGH MILITARY TATTOO
Edinburgh is famous for its annual military tattoo – a lively military performance replete with Scottish bagpipes, military drills, engaging dancers and colorful fireworks. After spending the day touring Edinburgh’s Royal Mile and its castle, spend the evening attending the tattoo. Overnight in Edinburgh
DAY 5: EDINBURGH
Relax after a late evening or get in some more shopping with a morning in Edinburgh before a scenic afternoon train ride transports you across the beautiful Scottish and English countryside to the ancient Roman city of York. Overnight in York
DAY 6: YORK
Get your first glimpse of York Minster, one of the world’s most magnificent cathedrals, from the old city walls. Climb the tower to get an incredible view of York and the surrounding countryside. Stroll through The Shambles, one of Europe’s best-preserved medieval shopping streets. Overnight in York
DAY 7: CHATSWORTH
Take in the grandeur of Chatsworth House, made famous for its portrayal as Darby’s home in Pride and Prejudice. Wander the magnificent grounds, which include gardens, waterfalls, mazes and much more. Stroll through Bakewell, with its stone-faced shops and tall-steepled churches. Overnight in Hartington
DAY 8: PEAK DISTRICT
Immerse yourself in exploring rolling, green hills, neolithic stone circles, dramatic rock ledges and tranquil villages in England’s beautiful Peak District. Travel to Castle Bromwich Hall for a truly memorable castle-like overnight stay. Optional evening in Birmingham
DAY 9: LIVING HISTORY
Learn about the lifestyles of those living in British coal country during the Industrial Revolution in a museum that recreates a town of the time period. Spend the afternoon exploring Shakespeare’s hometown, Stratford-upon-Avon. Overnight in Stow-on-the-Wold
DAY 10: THE COTSWOLDS
Visit the Cotswolds, a region of England sprinkled with picturesque villages, thatched roof cottages, traditional churches, iconic English houses and beautiful green rolling hills. Tour the palatial childhood home of Winston Churchill, Blenheim Palace, and stroll its gardens. Overnight near Heathrow airport
DAY 11: RETURN HOME
The tour concludes with hotel check-out by 11 a.m. Arrangements to the airport will be made for those leaving prior to 9 a.m. Early departures or later departures should plan their own transportation to the airport.
Tour Pricing and Payment Schedule
The Military Tattoo and Best of UK tour scheduled for August 2023 will be $2,770 (for twin bed room on overnight train) or $2,850 (for double bed room on overnight train) per person, based on double occupancy. A $50 discount is given for payment in full at initial deposit; otherwise, the following payment schedule applies, per person:

If signing up after any deposit deadline, payment for any previous deposits will be due upon sign-up. Prompt payment is appreciated. Late payments are assessed a $25 late fee.

Travel insurance
International airfare, including any taxes and fees

Liability Waiver and Release Form
Please sign and return the Liability Waiver and Release Form for each tour participant. A parent or guardian must sign the form for any minor participants. A tour request is officially submitted when both the tour deposit and the Waiver and Release form are received by Aticus Travel, LLC for each tour participant.
Travel Insurance
Due to the strict cancellation policy, in order to protect your investment, and to provide you with peace of mind, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance.
