DAY 1: Travel Day
International flights should be arranged to depart from the US on or before Saturday, May 30th, 2026 to arrive in London by 10 am on the tour start date of Sunday, June 1st, 2026. Late arrivals will need to find their own way to the arranged hotel and may miss out on some tour activities. Discounts will not be provided for late arrivals. Early arrivals will need to secure any additional hotel nights and/or activities they wish to participate in prior to tour commencement.
DAY 2: Arriving in London
Arrive at London Heathrow Airport on or before 10 am to participate in a walking tour of London to see Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the London Eye, the River Thames, St. James Park and more. Overnight near London Heathrow.
DAY 3: Salisbury & Stonehenge
Trade the hustle and bustle of city life for the iconic British countryside with its rolling hills and pasturing sheep. Marvel at the mysterious stones that prehistoric peoples struggled to erect at Stonehenge. Wonder at the ingenuity that built the tallest spire in England atop Salisbury cathedral. Overnight in Salisbury.
DAY 4: Bath
Return to a time when Rome ruled England and Bath was a resort town for pleasure seekers. View the rebuilt ancient Roman Baths (additional fee applies). Stroll through Bath Abbey and read the epitaphs of the 1500 souls memorialized there. Spend the evening in nearby Bradford-on-Avon. Overnight in Bath.
DAY 5: Cardiff & Lacock
Cross from England into Wales to visit its capital, Cardiff. Explore Cardiff Castle and learn about the eccentric responsible for creating its luxurious interior. Tunnel under the castle to view the air raid shelters prepared for WWII. Admire the frozen-in-time village of Lacock, often used in films portraying yesteryears. Overnight in Bath.
DAY 6: The Cotswolds
Visit the Cotswolds, a region of England sprinkled with picturesque villages, thatched roof cottages, traditional churches, iconic English houses and beautiful green rolling hills. Enjoy the quintessential British village of Bourton-on-the-Water, with its pretty shops and scenic stream running through the village center. Overnight in Tamworth.
DAY 7: Tamworth Castle & Little Moreton Hall
Explore Tamworth Castle, a well-preserved Norman stronghold with centuries of history and sweeping views. Continue to Little Moreton Hall, a beautifully preserved Tudor manor famed for its elaborate timber-framed design. Venture into the Peak District to cross the iconic stepping stones at Dovedale, where limestone valleys and gentle hills create a timeless landscape. Overnight in Hartington.
DAY 8: Chatsworth House
Become immersed in rolling green hills, Neolithic stone circles, dramatic rock ledges, and tranquil villages of England’s beautiful Peak District. Visit the grand country estate of Chatsworth House, celebrated for its role as Darcy’s home in Pride and Prejudice, and explore its gardens, fountains, and mazes. Overnight in Hartington.
DAY 9: Southwell Workhouse
Begin the day with a leisurely morning, with the option to join a local church service if you wish. Gather for a traditional English Sunday Roast meal, complete with all the classic trimmings, before traveling to Southwell Workhouse. Gain insight into the harsh realities faced by those who lived within its walls. Overnight in Ely.
DAY 10: Ely Cathedral
Visit the magnificent Ely Cathedral, renowned for its stunning architecture and rich history. In the afternoon, pause to enjoy a classic English tea before continuing to Saffron Walden to walk the ancient turf maze, one of the oldest of its kind. Overnight near London Heathrow.
DAY 11: London
Begin the day by discovering the extraordinary exhibits of the British Museum. Enjoy lunch at Borough Market. Discover over a thousand years of history and the British Crown Jewels at the Tower of London and listen to the bells toll over St. Paul’s Cathedral. Choose to end the tour with a London play (additional fee applies). Overnight near London Heathrow.
DAY 12: Return Home
The tour concludes with hotel check-out by 11 a.m. Arrangements to the airport will be made for those leaving prior to 9 a.m. Early departures or later departures should plan their own transportation to the airport.
Tour Pricing And Payment Schedule
The Britain on a Budget tour scheduled for June 2026 will be $2,850 per person, based on double occupancy. A $100 discount is given for payment in full at initial deposit; otherwise, the following payment schedule applies per person:
Non-refundable deposit of $600 reserves spot - deposits made prior to Dec 31st, 2025 receive a $100 discount, making the deposit $500.

If signing up after any deposit deadline, payment for any previous deposits will be due upon sign-up. Prompt payment is appreciated. Late payments are assessed a $25 late fee.
Only 1 discount on tour pricing is permissible. A discount of $100 is available to all those who place their deposit prior to December 31st, 2025. After December 31st, 2025, a $100 discount is available to all those who pay their full tour price at the time of their initial deposit.
Solo supplement (single occupancy hotel rooms): $850

Pre-tour information, such as what to pack and how to exchange currency
Expertise of a tour guide throughout the tour
All sight-seeing and visits, as noted in the itinerary
All on-tour transportation, including trains, ferries, rental vehicles, and buses
One carry-on suitcase and one personal item due to space restraints in rental vehicles
All accommodations, based on double or quad occupancy; typically, youth hostels and 3-star hotels
Not included in the tour cost:
International airfare and any related expenses
Travel insurance
Expenses due to flight delays, strikes, inclement weather or other irregularities
Passport fees, visas (including ETA for UK entry) and visa photos as required
Personal items such as souvenirs, laundry services, beverages, snacks, and healthcare
Optional excursions as indicated in the itinerary
Meals as indicated in the tour itinerary
Checked baggage fees and excess baggage charges

Liability Waiver and Release Form
Please sign and return the Liability Waiver and Release Form for each tour participant. A parent or guardian must sign the form for any minor participants. A tour request is officially submitted when both the tour deposit and the Waiver and Release form are received by Aticus Travel, LLC for each tour participant.
Travel Insurance
Due to the strict cancellation policy, in order to protect your investment, and to provide you with peace of mind, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance. Many reputable companies exist and you can look into any of them, but here are a few recommendations to consider: Allianz Global Assistance, TravelEx, World Nomads and Travel Guard.
