Tour Itinerary

DAY 1: Travel Day

International flights should be arranged to depart from the US on or before Wednesday, April 14th, 2027 to arrive in Barcelona by 2 p.m. on the tour start date of Thursday, April 15th, 2027. Late arrivals will need to find their own way to the arranged hotel and may miss out on some tour activities. Discounts will not be provided for late arrivals. Early arrivals will need to secure any additional hotel nights and/or activities they wish to participate in before the tour begins.

DAY 2: Arrival in Spain

Arrive in Barcelona, Spain by 2 p.m. for hotel check-in. Explore Barcelona’s Gothic Quarter. Get lost in the maze of narrow, medieval streets, visiting Barcelona Cathedral and the Pont del Bisbe (Bishop’s Bridge). Stroll down the famous, tree-lined boulevard of La Rambla, browsing the stalls and street performers. Optional activities are available for an additional fee for those who arrive early. DAY 3: Gaudi’s Legacy

Explore the Sagrada Família to marvel at its soaring columns and vibrant stained-glass windows. Tour one of Antoni Gaudí's architectural masterpieces to admire his whimsical style, fluid lines, and legendary organic structures. Wander through the markets stalls of Mercat de la Boqueria for a tasty, regional treat. Walk down to Rambla De Mar for seaside views. Overnight in Barcelona

DAY 4: Barcelona

Discover Park Güell as you wander its vibrant mosaic terraces, winding paths, and whimsical stone structures offering sweeping views of the city. Ascend Montjuïc hill to discover its historic military castle, lush botanical gardens, and scenic cable car rides. Relax by the Magic Fountain to take in a spectacular evening show of dancing water, dramatic music, and colorful lights. Overnight in Barcelona

DAY 5: Spain’s Wild Coast

Choose to spend this Sunday morning at church services, relaxing, or shopping for souvenirs. After lunch, venture beyond Barcelona to journey toward the Costa Brava, Spain's magnificent "Wild Coast". Head straight to Platja de la Mar Menuda in Tossa de Mar. Swim or snorkel through crystalline waters surrounded by terracotta-colored rock formations and scenic castle views. DAY 6: Medieval Highway

Journey past the dramatic cliffs of the Spanish coastline into southern France. Explore Salses Fortress, a massive, brick-built 15th-century military stronghold tucked uniquely below ground level. Stroll along the historic Canal du Midi at the Port of Trèbes to watch traditional boats pass through the locks under a canopy of plane trees. Admire the walled city of Carcassonne, taking an evening walk to see its towering medieval ramparts and fairy-tale turrets beautifully lit up at night. Overnight in Carcassonne

DAY 7: Carcassonne

Enter the walled city of Carcassonne to lose yourself in a medieval labyrinth of winding cobblestone streets and fairy-tale turrets. Explore the Château Comtal, walking along its towering battlements and soaking in panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Admire the Gothic architecture and stunning stained-glass windows of the Basilica of Saints Nazarius and Celsus. Try a traditional cassoulet or other regional fare as evening falls over the ancient fortress. Overnight in Carcassonne

DAY 8: Pyrenean Caves and Castles

Ascend to Foix Castle to explore its towering medieval keep and interactive museum showcasing the history of the Counts of Foix. Journey deep into Niaux Cave to admire the hauntingly beautiful 14,000-year-old Magdalenian cave paintings hidden within the atmospheric Salon Noir. Wander into the mountain town of Ax-les-Thermes to soak your feet in the warm, naturally heated waters of the Bassin des Ladres. Overnight in Ax-les-Thermes

DAY 9: Andorra

Discover Andorra la Vella, strolling past the historic stone parliament building at Casa de la Vall and exploring boutique shops tucked against a dramatic mountain backdrop. Admire Dalí’s famous "The Nobility of Time" clock sculpture at the Plaça de la Rotonda while crossing the scenic bridge over the Valira River. Unwind at the Caldea Thermal Spa to float in bubbling outdoor lagoons, soak in grapefruit baths, and relax beneath its soaring glass pyramid (Additional fee). Overnight in Andorra

DAY 10: Catalonia

Wander through Llívia’s medieval streets, a Spanish enclave entirely surrounded by French territory, to explore its historic castle ruins and unique ancient pharmacy. Marvel at the grand Collegiate Basilica of Santa Maria and the holy cave sanctuary where Saint Ignatius of Loyola stayed in Manresa. Ascend the jagged peaks of Montserrat to visit the stunning Benedictine monastery and see the revered Black Madonna statue. Overnight near Barcelona airport

DAY 11: Return Flight from Barcelona

The tour concludes with hotel check-out by 11 a.m. Arrangements to the airport will be made for those leaving prior to 11 a.m. Travelers departing very early or after 11 a.m. should arrange their own transportation to the airport.

Tour Pricing And Payment Schedule

The Coasts, Castles & the Pyrenees tour scheduled for April 2027 will be $3,250 per person, based on double occupancy. A $100 discount* is given for payment in full at initial deposit; otherwise, the following payment schedule applies per person:

Non-refundable deposit of $625 reserves spot - deposits made prior to Dec 31st, 2026 receive a $100 discount*, making the deposit $525.

  • Payment of $525 due on Dec 1st, 2026 

  • Payment of $525 due on Jan 1st, 2027

  • Payment of $525 due on Feb 1st, 2027

  • Payment of $525 due on Mar 1st, 2027

  • Final payment of $525 due on April 1st, 2027

If signing up after any deposit deadline, payment for any previous deposits will be due upon sign-up. Prompt payment is appreciated. Late payments are assessed a $25 late fee.

 

*Only 1 discount on tour pricing is permissible. A discount of $100 is available to all those who place their deposit prior to December 31st, 2026. After December 31st, 2026, a $100 discount is available to all those who pay their full tour price at the time of their initial deposit.

Solo supplement (single occupancy hotel rooms): $800​

Pre-tour information, such as what to pack and how to exchange currency

Expertise of a tour guide throughout the tour

All sight-seeing and visits, as noted in the itinerary

All on-tour transportation, including trains, ferries, rental vehicles, and buses

One carry-on suitcase and one personal item due to space restraints in rental vehicles

All accommodations, based on double occupancy; typically, 3 star hotels

Not included in the tour cost:

International airfare and any related expenses

Travel insurance (strongly recommended)

Expenses due to flight delays, strikes, inclement weather or other irregularities

Passport fees, visas (including ETIAS for EU entry) and visa photos as required

Personal items such as souvenirs, laundry services, beverages, snacks, and healthcare

Optional excursions as indicated in the itinerary

Meals as indicated in the tour itinerary

Checked baggage fees and excess baggage charges

Liability Waiver and Release Form

Please sign and return the Liability Waiver and Release Form for each tour participant. A parent or guardian must sign the form for any minor participants. A tour request is officially submitted when both the tour deposit and the Waiver and Release form are received by Aticus Travel, LLC for each tour participant.

Due to the strict cancellation policy, in order to protect your investment, and to provide you with peace of mind, we strongly recommend you purchase travel insurance.
